Hacienda Motorsports father-son duo makes Vado appearance
Carlos Ahumada Jr. and Carlos Sr. raced together for the first time since January on Saturday, with each competing in the 28-car USRA Modified division at Vado (New Mexico) Speedway Park. Ultimately, both had disappointing nights at the 3/8-mile oval.
Ahumada Jr. piloted his familiar Hacienda Mechanical, Inc. No. 65x Modified to the win in his heat race and started sixth in the 25-lap feature. He was running inside the top five when he was caught up in a crash and finished 19th.
The elder Ahumada was unable to complete his heat race in his Bear Graphix No. 54 Modified, starting him 27th in the main event. He retired early and came home 26th.
