Ahumada Jr. nabs 6th-place finish at Vado

Two weeks ago, Carlos Ahumada Jr. left Vado (New Mexico) Speedway Park on the hook. However, he and his Hacienda Motorsports team regrouped and debuted a new car in the USRA Modified division at the track on Saturday night, earning a top-10 result.

Twenty-six Modifieds filled the pit area of the 3/8-mile speed plant for the Mother’s Day Weekend event, including Ahumada’s Hacienda Mechanical No. 65x ride. The El Paso, Texas, driver finished fifth in his heat race, starting him 15th in the 25-lap A-Main. He raced ahead nine spots in the feature to come home in the sixth position.
